​中国现代艺术档案暨《中国当代艺术年鉴》编辑部自23日云上复工以来,正常推进《年鉴》2019卷编纂工作,筹备北京民生现代美术馆在6月举办的“中国当代艺术年鉴展2019”。编辑部根据2019年中国当代艺术的展览、文献和事件,分15主题进行综述。本公众号自即日起推送各主题综述引言与选编文献目录,作为去年中国当代艺术的学术问题的一种索引。今日推荐内容为”英文媒体对中国当代艺术的报道与接受”专题。



英文媒体对中国当代艺术的报道与接受

在过去数年中,外国媒体对于中国当艺术的反应和动向一直是《中国当代艺术年鉴》的数据收集整理工作的重要一环。由于各种原因,2019年的回顾集中于英文媒体。对于中国当代艺术保持长期的关注的英文媒体,根据媒体的性质,可以做出如下的初步分类:第一,带有一定学术性质的专业期刊,如《典藏国际版》(Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art);第二,专业的艺术类杂志媒体,包括纸媒和线上平台,如Artforum International、ArtAsiaPacific、Hyperallergic、Artnet News、The Art Newspaper、Tussle、Tate、Flash Art、Editorial/Artsy,等等;第三,《纽约时报》艺术板块、Brooklynrail、CNN、英国《卫报》、BBC、《南华早报》等综合类媒体也会非定期地对在世界各地发生的重大的艺术新闻和现象进行报道与剖析。除去以上三个主要类别,世界各地的地方性媒体(Local News)也会对当地出现的中国当代艺术展览及艺术家活动做出一定的回应。而在诸多活跃的媒体之中,总部位于温哥华的期刊《典藏国际版》可谓特殊,因为成立于2002年的该刊物是第一家专注于当代中国艺术与文化的英文期刊,虽不属于同行评审期刊(peer reviewed journal),但仍然带有较强的学术性质。
